ABOUT THE AUTHOR
My name is Ayo Wilson, and I am a Canadian author originally from Nigeria. I work as an Early Childhood Educator and Montessori Teacher in the Niagara Region, where I live with my husband and children. I have explored and lived in a few other African countries, including Mali, where I began my family and teaching career in 2005.
With many years of experience nurturing young minds, particularly preschool and kindergarten age groups, I've had the privilege of serving in both private and public schools. The idea for my book, Meet My Africa, stemmed from my students' curiosity and eagerness to learn about this vast and diverse continent, coupled with my deep passion for teaching.
Outside the classroom and when I'm not writing children's stories, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, listening to music, and traveling. I speak four languages—Yoruba, English, French, and some Bambara—and love sharing information about Africa with little ones.
